Northeast Houston Community Center is supported by weekly volunteers. We would love for you to join us and serve Houston’s Fifth Ward as we provide hope! Below you will find a list of volunteer positions that are needed to run the mission weekly. If you are interested in serving in any of these positions, please email info@farringtonmission.org and let us know!
Social Media Ambassador
Help us spread the message of what we do at Farrington Mission through our social media channels. Additionally, we need folks to help get the word out by committing to posting twice a month on their own social media channels.
Greeter
Receive guests on Monday nights when they arrive for food and clothes. This position involves greeting people as they enter the building, facilitating the sign in process, and answering questions.
Computer Volunteer
Every client who visits needs to be checked into the computer system to verify their eligibility and confirm their contact information. This position will check in clients, assist them with questions about the process, and help meet their physical needs.
Spiritual Mentor
Hope comes in many forms, but the most important hope that we have to give comes in the hope of Jesus Christ. This position will meet with clients who are interested in hearing more about the Gospel and explain how they can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
Food Runner
Many of the clients we serve are in need of physical assistance to help transfer food to their vehicle. Food runners help by pushing carts to client vehicles and help load the goods into their cars.
Clothing Closet Volunteer
NEHCC provides clothes to our clients. We are in constant need of volunteers to help sort, organize, and hang clothes in our clothing closet. This position is instrumental in assisting clients in finding the clothing items they need.
Who can participate?
We welcome groups of all sizes to join us at NEHCC. Participating groups may include churches, school groups, families, corporate groups, community groups, sports teams, fraternities/sororities and more! Each team must choose a team captain who will be responsible for working with us and serving as the contact person.
